ImoovU - Clamp & Lift Side mounted (removable) Our ImoovU design incorporates many great benefits you DO NOT get with any other boat launching wheel. How the ImovU works Attachment to the side gunwal and chine of an aluminium boat can be done without the need to physically lift and hold the boat while attaching wheels. By disengaging the lifting arm the clamp section is lowered onto the boat, while the boat is either the ground or at the waters edgs.
After attachment to the boat, the lifting arm assists in the lifting of the boat off the ground.
Once the lifting arms lock is engaged the lifting arm forms a secondary safety to for the boat clamp. Your boat is now ready to be moved.

The ImoovU has been designed to suit an aluminium boat that has been made with a chine extrusion between the side and bottom panels. The average angle of the chine extrusion is to be 45° or close enough to. As you can see from the above list, most boats have a 45° chine extrusion.

If your boat does not have a chine extrusion or has an almost horizontal chine extrusion angle, there may not be enough for the ImoovU's chine grip to grip to. The solution for this is to weld a piece of aluminium strip to the chine of your boat. This will not affect the strength or the handling of your boat. The aluminium strip size should be a maximum of 20mm wide (the width of the ImoovU chine grip) and a minimum of 3mm thick, length a minimum of 200mm. Positioning will depend how you normally load you boat, but between 700mm - 1000mm forward of the transom is generally the best position.
